This training, offered by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Wisconsin Disability Benefits Network (WDBN), introduces Benefit Specialists to Wisconsin’s subsidized housing and reduced rent programs. Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of key housing programs, including Public Housing, Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) properties, and state-specific reduced rent initiatives. They will learn to guide individuals with disabilities in navigating housing options, accurately report income changes, and assess the impact of earnings on rent and eligibility. The training also equips participants with resources, advocacy tools, and practical knowledge to help clients access housing opportunities while maintaining compliance with program rules.
